Meet a family in need

Hi. May I ask why you are here today?

For the help that you all are offering mainly to immigrant families.

May I ask how the last three months have been for you, your family, and your community?

As a family, it’s been difficult because there’s nine of us. Currently, there’s seven of us at home and my husband has lost lately a lot of work hours. I do not work because I look after my kids, and we are regularly at home because of COVID. What we have suffered the most from is the stress and the anxiety in our home, and we’re just at home, waiting to see what will happen. God willing everything will get better.

The last question requires some context. We are a growing organization and we still need a lot of support to reach our final goals. Our plan is to start a clinic for the community, but we need a lot of help. What would you tell a person of means who has the resources to donate to this organization and is wondering: are they viable? Are they not viable? Should I donate to this organization? What would you tell them?

They should donate because I think that this is an organization that focuses on forgotten families. Many times, as immigrants, we are pushed away from many parts of society, including health insurance especially, which is something that is very necessary for us. My husband and I do not have insurance, only Medical for emergencies. We can’t go to the doctor if we have a fever or a cough because it’s not an emergency. So, I beg to the families who can donate, who can contribute, who can help us, that we really need the help—as Hispanics, and as low income families.
